Classes cover a wide range of techniques and approaches, including Pranayama - breathing exercises, strength, flexibility and balance postures and meditation techniques. This is a Hatha Flow Class and suitable for all levels 2.Face Yoga and meditation Tuesday 6.10pm on Zoom Anne-Marie has developed this unique, bespoke practice, having taught hundreds of people meditation and finding that students very often struggle to sit to meditate. However if the mediation begins with the Face yoga exercises and yoga eye exercises which also incorporates pressure points, breathing techniques, crystals and essential oils to enhance and deepen the practice then we find that people invariably find it easier to transition into meditation Face yoga is not only an extremely effective natural face lift but it is also very helpful for issues such as migraines, eye strain, depression and an anxious mind 3.Restorative yoga and yoga Nidra Thursday 4pm on Zoom and on catch up on Friday This is a a deeply relaxing, meditative class that restores the body and through the deep relaxation paradoxically it helps energise and heal the body and is followed with Yoga Nidra. A deeply relaxing, meditative class that restores the body and through the deep relaxation paradoxically it helps energise and heal the body and is followed with Yoga Nidra. Good Evening all We continue our Story Time Sunday by taking a step back in the story of the development of the centre in order to understand a little more about some of the influences in James life that led him to where he is now.... While James had already had some spiritual experiences during his time at school, a life changing experience for him was after leaving St.John Fisher and St. Aidans School 6th form in Harrogate, rather than going straight to Durham University he took a gap year with Project Trust. Project Trust is not for the faint hearted and demands far more resilience and strength of character than the average gap year experience. For a start, before you can be accepted on the Project the young people have to prove they can manage by living in the Isle of Coll off the West Coast of Scotland for a week on their own . James got through and was assigned to an SOS village in Malawi, where he became a mentor and teacher of the young boys living in the village whom had been orphaned by HIV He was away for the whole year- it was a very isolated and a poor environment and he only spoke to his family twice in the whole year ! In addition 9/11 occurred just a couple of weeks into his year. Which was a terrible time if you recall for all and for his family at home who didn't find out if he was OK for almost 2 weeks after this horrific event So as you can imagine the whole experience was life changing for an 18 year old and as a result it put James on a very different trajectory in life to most of his contemporaries

Meet the team We are delighted to welcome Helen back to the studio after her maternity leave. Helen started practicing Yoga over 13 years ago as a means to help deal with the stress of University, where she studied Sport, Health, Exercise and Nutrition. Yoga made such an impact on her life that she trained with renowned teacher and founder of Sun Power Yoga, Anne-Marie Newland.... Sun Power is a flowing style of yoga, incorporating movement, breath and mindfulness so improving strength and flexibility but also giving you time to slow down and find calm and is on Friday at 5.45pm. In addition to this training she undertook a course with YogaGro to safely teach Yoga to pregnant women, also practicing yoga throughout both of her own pregnancies. Helen is also trained to teach a style of Yoga known as Yin Yoga. This is a very slow practice, where the stretches are deep and held for long periods of time. It increases flexibility and benefits joint health but most importantly of all it offers us time to slow down and find some stillness in our often hectic lives. This class recommences this evening at 5.45pm Please book in online if you would like to come, we will be delighted to see see you @gopalayoga @hellsbells_085
Welcome to Wednesdays Health Hack with Anne-Marie Anne-Marie explains a typical Ayurvedic breakfast From an Ayurvedic perspective what, when and how we eat can make all the difference to our wellbeing. ... If we can aim to eat healthy, organic predominantly vegetarian food adopting mindful awareness, putting our attention on gratitude with the intention to nurture ourselves with the food we prepare and eat we can make all the difference so the food alchemises into a medicine and not a poison We explain the importance of food and how to eat with an understanding of our doshas in more depth on our Ayurvedic yoga Retreats But until that is possible again, you may in the meantime be interested to have an Ayurvedic consultation with either @gopalayoga or Syndi Duke @the_ayurveda_alchemist
Wednesday Health Hack with Anne-Marie Good Evening all I practice Neti most mornings as it is one of the 6 most important and beneficial yoga cleanses... There are many benefits Here are just a few:- 1.Helps prevent coughs, colds, flu, hay-fever and viruses, 2. Helps prevent and relieve headaches and migraines 3. Improves breathing as the nasal passages are cleared 4. Helps prevent stress and depression as the mind clears and becomes more alert 5. Helps prevent drowsiness as you feel awakened after practicing 6. From a yoga perspective perhaps the most important benefit is that it helps us awaken ajna chakra However it is important that we learn how to do it safely and properly so it is best learnt with a qualified teacher. We teach it on reteat so please do contact us if you would like to learn this wonderful practice @gopalayoga
