How to Free Yourself and Forgive Not one of us makes it through this life (or even most days) without making mistakes, occasionally saying or doing something thoughtless, taking people and things for granted when they’re truly gifts in our lives, or showing up as our best selves in every moment. Hopefully in those instances when we are all-too-human, we catch ourselves quickly, apologize from the heart when needed, and try to make better and different mistakes moving forward.... If we are fortunate and wise, we both receive and extend forgiveness as a necessary means to have real intimacy with people and get through this life with open and fulfilling relationships to celebrate. There’s no intimacy without communication and forgiveness. That is not what this post is about. Keep reading here: https://blog.yogisanonymous.com//how-to-free-yourself-and/

Not sure who needs to see this, but I just found this post I'd forgotten I wrote and had the intuition that I should share it <3 Sending love to all of you out there. We are not going to get through this, we are G E T T I N G through this! Using Yoga to Heal Heartache When You’ve Loved and Lost Ah, heartache. No one invites you over and asks you to sit down for tea, and yet, we’ve all had times when you were our constant companion. One of the best things in life is shared co...nnection, and many people seek to find that in their romantic relationships. Of course we have our family, our close friends, those people who truly know us and cherish us for who we are, and that is genuine intimacy. Those are the people who are gifts in our lives, and should never be taken for granted. It’s human to want to find that same connection in a special someone, and yet it’s not always easy. Hello friends! I’ve gotten tons of emails from people who want to sign up for my January Goal-Setters, Goal-Keepers Course but are struggling financially because, 2020. I really don’t want finances to be a reason you can’t do this if you want to, and I know it’s been a really brutal year in so many ways. I just vastly reduced the price for the course so that it’s still sustainable for me to do this, but hopefully is more in reach for more of you. The early bird special is no...w $250 if you sign up by Friday 12/18 at midnight PST, $300 after that. Please check Ally’s Goal Setters Course: https://blog.yogisanonymous.com/yogas-healing-power-new-co/ for all the information about this program, which is very different than any other course I’ve lead in the past! Tomorrow's topic on the Practice Page: It's Okay to be Okay and It's Okay Not to Be Okay! A little talk about meeting ourselves where we are with compassion and eroding the tendency to pick ourselves apart. We are however we are and after the year we've all experienced, how else would we be? Some days are easier than others and some days are hard as hell. If you want to dive into that from the yogic perspective, come meet us tomorrow (Friday at 11:15am PST). We'll talk and then I'll lead a guided meditation. It's free, it's my contribution to help with connection and calm as we continue swimming upstream to the end of 2020 https://www.facebook.com/groups/YAPracticePage

I learned the hard way that when you put your own well-being at the bottom of your list of priorities, everything suffers. You cannot show up for the people you love most with the best of yourself if you’re running on empty. You can’t show up well for yourself that way, either, or for the projects and causes that are the most important to you. I realize self care may seem like a luxury, but it isn’t. Self care doesn’t have to look like a day at the spa, in fact, I can’t remem...ber the last time I had one of those but it’s been decades. It can look like pausing to do a little breath work to calm your nervous system, or learning how to meditate. If you need some free help with either of those, check the Join Our YA Practice Page link in bio. It can also look like carving out 15-30 minutes a day of yoga a few times a week, moving your body and breathing deeply. We have tons of short classes on the site because I know how hard it is to have children and a partner, to run a business and try to have a life and also find time for you. I promise you it’s possible, though, and everything will feel better and flow more easily when you tend to your own garden first! Much love to all out there, comment below if you need some tips for quick self care or if you find it hard to prioritize yourself! #selfcare #wellbeing #yogaathome #meditation #nervoussystem

Yup, that’s me. Little did I know that one day I’d be working my heart out running an online yoga-and-wellness studio and connecting with yogis all over the globe! I don’t know if you’ve been to the site, but if you have then you know we have this phenomenal group of teachers all with decades of experience sharing their wisdom, insight and humor with yogis in their living rooms, offices, outdoor decks - you name it, we’ve been there! I feel incredibly fortunate to get to sha...re all of our teachers and my own teaching, of course, with our global yoga community. We’ve been doing this since 2010, so there are over 8,000 incredible classes in the library, and we add new content every single week! We have all levels from brand-spanking new practitioners to people who’ve been practicing for decades. We have a ton of yoga teachers and studio owners who are members of the site. We have many different styles. But the thing we have the most is heart. I can tell you I truly care about every single member of our community. I FaceTime with people who are having hamstring issues, I answer every email myself, last week I spoke to a member in Ireland - his name is Francis and he’s 70 and he does ninety minutes of yoga every day and is working on his handstands. He wanted some tips! If you join and you have requests, I will do everything in my power to find the best teachers to show up for you - someone asked for Yoga Sculpt recently and @melkrono Melvin Ramsey showed up with the most energizing, motivating, fun classes that were so great it was hard to stay seated while he was teaching. If you ask, I will make it happen. We have targeted courses so if you’re trying to find your handstand like Francis, or crow pose is eluding you, you can join @angelakukhahnyoga for a course called Zero to Crow, or you can join me for From Pain to Peace if you’re trying to make big shifts in your life, or Yoga for Busy Moms if you’re trying to figure out how to take care of yourself while you’re trying to take care of everyone else! Come and check us out, we make self-care fun and easy :) #yogaathome #supportsmallbusiness #womanownedbusiness #selfcare

I know this might be a tough holiday for some of us today. Maybe you’ve had to cancel travel plans and can’t break bread around a table of the people you love most, or maybe the holidays are generally hard and full of longing. I always remind myself that the Norman Rockwell picture so many of us associate with holiday dinners doesn’t have sound ! Whatever is coming up for you today, please know you’re not alone. You can come meditate with me live over zoom at 11am PST if yo...u’re feeling lonely. You can get outside and feel the sun on your face, or unroll your yoga mat and join us for some yoga (check our Class of the Day link in bio for a gratitude flow!), you can have a slice of pie and savor every bite, curl up on the couch with a blanket and your favorite holiday movie or FaceTime with people you love. See if you can be really good to yourself and please know we are here! Sending lots of love to all and wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving. We are SO GRATEFUL for you! #happythanksgivng #gratitude #yogaathome #meditation #selfcare
